With the constant and natural flow of Staten Island purchasers to New Jersey, we are one of the few firms who can represent our clients not only in the sale of their New York residence, but also, in the purchase of a New Jersey residence. Representation of Homeowners Associations, Condominiums and Cooperatives
Harold J. Otterbeck has been involved in the representation of homeowners associations and condominiums since he began in practice. He was the attorney for the Board of Managers of one of the first Staten Island condominiums over 40 years ago.
With the proliferation of development which involves common elements such as streets, sewers, and lighting, and New York State law which mandates the creation of homeowners associations to administer such commonality, the number of such community associations has increased exponentially over the years.
Issues involved in the interpretation and administration of community association by-laws, declarations, covenants, and easements vary in complexity and substance. Regardless, we strive to provide prompt and expert advice as to the handling of all such matters.
